Best bike rides possible

Jim Caple of ESPN.com has put together a very good article about his recent Volvo Best Buddies charity ride along Highway 1 in California. Jim writes about this amazing ride and it's jaw dropping views, while also discussing the importance of supporting the intellectually disabled.

Caple does a great job of describing his century ride and the beautiful scenery. As he said, the shelf life of saying a site is the most amazing thing ever lasts only about three miles. Caple himself does quite a bit of recreational riding. He isn't a hardcore roadie, but he's done some respectable miles all the while stopping to enjoy the cookies at the rest stops.

Also included is a list of the Top 10 US Road Biking Routes. It was compiled by Ethan Gelber of Gorp.com. Our very own Natchez Trace Parkway made the list, which should come as no surprise.

This was started in 1989 by Anthony Shriver (related to Maria Shriver, brother?) after his own family experience with a mentally disabled aunt. Anthony found his aunt was an excellent swimmer, and better than everyone else in the family.
