Season winding down....

I'm sure you're thinking, "does this guy do anything with the site anymore?" The answer is yes, but lately no. The tempo of life has picked up quite a bit, and for the next two weeks it's going to get quicker. Plus, there has been a glitch.

Coming up this weekend are my last races of the season at the Greenville Classic in South Carolina. All you guys and gals who cut your racing season short in early September really miss out on some great racing in the ninth and tenth months of the year. This event is held in conjunction with the Fall for Greenville festival that draws approximately 25,000 people to downtown Greenville. The criterium races attract huge crowds, especially for the Pro1/2 because George Hincapie usually races. His brother Rich Hincapie is the race promoter.

Next week our Cumberland University mountain bike team travels to Angel Fire, New Mexico for the collegiate mountain bike nationals. The guys are super excited to be making this trip since we all have had this as our main objective this fall. The level of competition is high during our conference races, but at nationals it will be the best of the best. If it's anything like road nationals then it'll be a professional experience for everyone. Hopefully I'll get to see Daniel Matheny in his new role with USA Cycling leading the collegiate cycling department.

This last week has been an incredibly frustrating one for me, and you dedicated readers have bore the brunt of that frustration. I do all of my work for the site through a laptop that has been reliable for a few years now. On Monday this thing all of a sudden developed screen issues that left me in the dark, literally. After looking at my options I finally broke down and bought a 17" flat screen monitor. So for now the computer glitch is fixed, but now I've got to come up with a travel plan for this monitor.

In other words, I have a lot of catching up to do.
