Caribou Coffee blog
I'm here in Buckhead waiting for the last Georgia Cup race of the season. To kill a bit of time I of course scoped out the area for my pre-race mocha. After rolling down the street for about a half-mile I found Caribou Coffee.
I've seen these in the Atlanta many times in the past, but I was never in a position to stop and have a taste. So far they get two-thumbs up with the atmosphere they've created. It reminds me very much of the Jittery Joe's model store I visited during my last Athens trip. When you walk in there's a lot of hardwood flooring and exposed wood ceiling space. Then of course a fireplace in the middle, but most importantly free wireless internet!
My coffee was pretty good, but I only had one. I'd have to come here a few more times to test the consistency issue, but at least the one soy mocha was good to the last sip. They even have a few pre-packaged sandwiches to choose from. I've noticed Starbucks is doing this at many of their locations now, but I've not seen this in the Nashville market yet. The Starbucks on 21st Ave South used to offer food years ago, but it was sandwiches they bought from Provence.
With headquarters in Minneapolis these guys have been around since 1992, and according to their licensing page there are hundreds of stores in thirteen states. You can go HERE to find a location, but you'll be sad to know none are in Tennessee. Keep your eye out when you're traveling through Georgia and North Carolina and stop to enjoy your fix!
