Hamilton ban lifted
USA Cycling timed it perfectly didn't they? Tyler Hamilton's ban is lifted on Friday, but the Worlds Time-Trial was on Thursday. Despite the end of the two year ban Hamilton can only race in domestic races sanctioned by USA Cycling. Until he's cleared of charges related to Operation Puerto he won't be racing UCI events any time soon.

I wonder if he'll seek out any remaining regional races and suit up? Tyler has raced a few unsanctioned races this year, one being the victory he enjoyed at the Mount Washington Hill Climb in New Hampshire.
I'd say most people still want to believe this guy, but really, is that even remotely possible? Now that he's served his ban it's time to allow him the opportunity to return and prove himself a clean rider, at least in the United States. In a day when David Millar is allowed to return and compete it's time to open the door to Hamilton, especially considering Millar was actually caught with dope in his house! Millar was busted before the new ProTour rules were in place which allowed him a speedy return after his ban. Again, timing nails Hamilton since he was busted after the rule changes.
Operation Puerto is his next obstacle to leap if he desires Europe, but at this rate it doesn't look as though he'll get that chance. I have a spot for him on my team for 2007. If you read this Tyler, email me.
