Allow me to....
....re-introduce myself. I am NashvilleCyclist.com, your recent absent cycling blogger back to assume the esteemed position. I have a lot saved up, so let's get straight to a taste of the commentary.
U.S. Bicycling HOF Seeks Nominations
There was another site I blogged about awhile back that had an elaborate points system to determine the best overall cyclists of all-time. The official US Bicycling Hall of Fame is located in Somerville, NJ and underwritten by USA Cycling. If you want to learn a lot about the inductees within the HoF go to the "inductees" section to see it broken down into each year. The only drawback I see is that you can't see the entire list of athletes inducted to view at will, but rather you must go to each year's inductees. It's still a great resource nonetheless.
Breaking out from `Breaking Away'
In case you were wondering what happened to the cast from one of the best cycling movies ever created. The next trick would be to pick who went on to have the most productive acting career afterwards. It would be hard to choose between Dennis Quad, Daniel Stern or Paul Dooley. Jackie Earle Haley peaked with Bad News Bears, although he was up for an Oscar this year as a child molester of all things.
Lance's Ladies Look Alike
As they say, "Lance has a thing for svelte ash blondes." There's a twist you'll laugh out loud over.
US Open Cycling Championships
I missed watching this on Saturday afternoon, but after talking with friends and reading this Velonews report it sounded entertaining. A lot of riders were struggling to find the motivation to race in such crazy wintry conditions. A couple of notable finishes from locals are Trent Wilson of Jittery Joe's taking 7th in the men's race while Robin Farina of Target Training took 9th in the women's event. Go HERE to see a lot of photos from Cyclingnews.
Ullrich: 'I'm blameless'
Well, let's not go that far entirely. I have always respected Ullrich's talent, but his actions have contributed to the huge cloud of doubt. However, I'll state again what I predicted before the blood was tested, and that is just because it was his blood does not confirm that he was doping. Blood in bags aren't what is tested in competition, but rather what is pulsing through one's veins. From everything I've read lately teams will be monitoring the DNA of nearly all riders. Everyone feel better about that? I don't. Pandora's Box has been opened just that little bit.....
Bicylists: 'Just share the road'
An article from Murfreesboro which includes riders in the Boro's cycling club and the shop MOAB. I have another blog to do about a recent Tennessean editorial about cycling safety, so stay tuned for that one.
Movie Director Robert Clark, Best Known for 'A Christmas Story,' and Son Killed in Car Wreck
You all know that Clark's movie is my all-time favorite Christmas movie. While Clark and his son were killed in the accident the driver of the other vehicle suffered only minor injuries. Yes, the driver that survived was under the influence of alcohol. Not only that but the driver did not possess a license.
Road to Roubaix
I suspect this film will become one we all should have within our DVD collection. Flanders was this past Sunday, Ghent-Wevelgem is this Wednesday, and the classic Paris-Roubaix is next Sunday, April 15. Unfortunately George Hincapie won't be racing due to some broken bones, but he's supposedly doing the Tour de Georgia.
On Sunday Versus is showing highlights from the race at 4:00 PM CST on its Cyclysm Sunday's show. In case you're like me and miss the show on Sunday you can check out an encore show on Wednesday afternoon.
Throwing Batters Curves Before Throwing a Pitch
I can't begin to describe just how difficult this ability is to even attempt with success, much less master well enough to do in a game. As the article states it's something that must be started early in life. If I recall correctly Hall of Famer George Brett would throw batting practice left-handed to his Kansas City teammates. Brett played as a right-hander.
As for my post last night "Wow", it was all about me playing with my new Samsung A707 cell phone through Cingular. My previous Motorola phone breathed it's last radio frequency and had to be replaced. It wouldn't do anything but make calls and do text messages, but now with a phone from the 21st century I can do just about anything! I can take pictures at 2.0 megapixels, take videos, email, surf the Internet, Bluetooth, and after about 30 minutes last night I figured out how to blog from it!
The coolest thing is I have a mulit-media package that allows me to watch videos of Weather.com, CNN, Fox, CBS, MLB, etc. you name it! I have wasted a few hours watching local weather, Dave Letterman and Jay Leno monologues, Comedy Central, cartoons, and MLB plays of the day to name a few. The download speeds and playback are awesome.
So now you know all about my new "play pretty", which is what my teachers called that sort of thing growing up. After this newness wears off I'll get back to acquiring cycling gear.

Hi there,
accidentally came across your site looking for more information about strength training for cyclists. Right now I am looking at Cyclingnews and www.mindandbodyworkout.net. Check back later maybe if you've got any good ideas.
