Music City Star - coming soon!
More and more details are coming together for Nashville's east corridor rail system, and according to the Tennessean we should get an official start date soon. I have blogged about this before, but the Music City Star is a rail that will be from Lebanon to Nashville with several stops in between in towns like Mt. Juliet, Hermitage and Donelson. On the main site they are saying the start will be late summer 2006. Previously it was to be this spring, but delays in getting liability insurance pushed the date further out.
Tentative ticket prices and rail schedules have been posted. Considering it takes $50 to $75 to fill up a tank of gas the prices are within the range of acceptability. Prices are from $4 to $5 per trip depending upon where your destination may be. There's also a 10-ticket package as well as a monthly plan. I will definitely be taking this train to Lebanon from time-t0-time.
I have an email in to the rail's director to see if bicycles will be allowed on board. I'll let you know the response once it's provided.
