Kansas weather

Would you rather ride in Kansas City weather or Nashville weather? At least it's not raining on us here in Kansas. Looking at the weekend weather for home it looks like we picked a good time to be gone. Hopefully by the time racing starts on Saturday in McMinnville the sun will break through and clears the skies for you guys.

Collegiate Nationals here in Lawrence begins on Friday with the team time-trial. It's a 20km course that's out and back on roads near the Kansas University campus. Saturday is the 84 mile road race around Lake Perry. We did a recon ride around the 28 mile loop yesterday and it reminded us all of home. Kansas is a flat state, but the race organization found a loop with nothing but rolling hills.

Sunday marks the final race with the criterium bright and early at 7:00 AM! Yes, seven AM. It's a one mile course with eight turns, 65 minutes plus 3 laps, which should test the endurance and technical skills of everyone. Each team gets just three riders for this event which means nobody can really control this race.
