Huntsville coffee shop blog

On our way down to Auburn on Friday afternoon I was shocked to see a Starbucks billboard along I-65 South just north of Huntsville. I am known to waste the team's time by stopping at every possible soy mocha stop along our travels. Ocourse I had to see how close this was to the interstate, afterall, it had been a full four hours since my last drink!

I rolled along the highway looking for the green Starbucks sign only to get let down. It had to be for one all the way into Huntsville, which is too far off the interstate. Instead we drive by an independent shop called "The Little Coffee House" that looks as if it hadn't been opened for long. I can't recall which exit this was, but if you see the Starbucks billboard take the next exit and turn left. The shop will be a half-mile down on your left.

Don't let the sign and outer view fool you, it was cozy and nice inside despite the gravel driveway. They have free wireless internet and a good looking pastry case. I definitely recommend the mocha, but no soy is offered.
It was the only non-Starbucks we were able to visit during the Auburn weekend, but we did see several along the downtown area after the crit on Sunday. When you're driving a van and pulling a trailer it makes it difficult to park wherever you want, which meant I had to wait until Birmingham for my fix.

This coming weekend I'm going down to Athens Twilight and the Roswell Criterium, so I should have more reviews for you then. On our last Athens visit we hit up Jittery Joe's several times for drinks, but I neglected my reviews. They have several locations in town and my plan is to hit as many as possible, plus any other independents I can stumble across.
