Uhhh, I'm first?!
I have some great photos from this past weekend at Auburn, but this one ranks right up there with the best. In collegiate cycling there's no telling what you might witness. This finish line photo is a microcosm of what it can be like sometimes. It was even funnier watching the guy spray paint it and realizing his mistake. Then of course he keeps going hoping to correct himself, did he?!

Sure, the line was funny, but how about the day before, in the RR, not knowing where the finish line would be until about 30 miles into the 80+ mile course. We role past a couple of cars pulled off the side of the road and, out of the blue, Carol appears and yells out, "This is the finish line!"
Really. Well...thanks, Carol. Thanks for letting us know.
Or, the next day, in a crit that was advertised as 70 minutes + 5 laps, catching the officials call five laps at about 58 or 59 minutes. So apparently "70 minutes" is more correctly interpreted as "an arbitrary time limit not to exceed 70 minutes."
Again, thanks for the heads up.
I guess it keeps things exciting...
