Blessed weekend.....
I hope you were like me in that you had a memorable weekend with family and friends. Easter could not have had better weather for training, egg hunts, family dinners and most importantly worship. Ever begin a worship service and think, "Aw man, not this, I was hoping for....?" Then once the service gets into full throttle everyone has their hearts touched and teary eyed, and you walk away saying, "Wow, that's exactly what my heart needed to hear today!" He knows what's best doesn't He.
I was able to attend Saturday's training ride as we ended up with close to 30 people hitting it hard on the Thompson Station loop. We treated each of the two laps as two separate mini-races, and based upon those efforts I'd say there are many people itching to put the smack down. The loop we did has been used as a training race circuit in the past, and I'd say it's time we revive that bad boy. It's isolated away from traffic, challenging corners, small little hills that'll pop you, and a fast sprint finish at the end.
While the weekend was perfect it's our Monday that can be a drag, especially for those who have not yet completed their taxes! That's right, today is the deadline to file your 2005 income taxes with the IRS. Bugger you say, me too since I've purposely put off having to pay a nice little sum for the first time ever! I completed all the paperwork two months ago, but have yet to hit the online "send" button because I do NOT want to let go of that cash. To think that three months ago I had hoped to break even or come out slightly ahead, and hope to buy a little something cycling related. Nope, not going to happen this April.
What plans do all of you have with your tax refunds?
Another bike? Debt payoff? Vacation? Or, you kiddin', refund?!
