Tour de Balmain pub crawl

Our man Jeff Hopkins down in Australia knows how to promote a pub crawl. What looks to be the stage map of the Tour de France is actually the stage map of this weekend's annual Tour de Balmain pub crawl in Sydney, Australia!

This 14 stage crawl is sure to test the intestinal fortitude of many Aussie drinking greats. With a 3 PM start it will likely be a 10 hour event on the drinking stools across town.

As stage 10 hits the Cat and Fiddle on Darling Street it's here where the climbers will separate from the sprinters. The domestiques will have done their jobs and packed it in, while the sprinters wave off the climbers as they go into a stuporous slumber.

It's those next 3 stages coined Hotel Hell - Dicks, Exchange and West End that the Heads of State will rise. All those long hours of pub crawl training will show its mettle here. Those 3 brutes of a hotel pub trio will surely have the crowd on its feet for the final climb to stage 14 in Sackville.

Sackville, the place where legends are born. The place where portraits are hung in euology for those left behind. The place where heads slump low but the drinks always flow.

With an adoring crowd cheering only the champion will make his way out of the swinging doors and onto a specialized town bike. Into the arms of podium girls with flowers, kisses and champagne.

Can he do it? Will he do it? Viva le Hoppy!
