More Aussies in Nashville
Jeff Hopkins (adopted Australian turned Nashvillian) will have some homeland company next year on the Jittery Joe's-Zero Gravity team. Not only will his fellow Australians be teammates, but at least one will become a part-time Nashvillian as well.
I am speaking of Trent Wilson, who for the last two seasons has raced for Columbia Selle Italia. Trent is joining JJ-ZG for the 2006 season and will be living with Jeff here in Nashville. Another Australian joining JJ-ZG for '06 is Peter Hatton. I'm not sure if Peter will be hanging his wheels in Nashville or not, but I'll try and get some info from Jeff.
If Trent's name sounds familiar it's because you've probably read his diary on Cyclingnews.com. His latest entry was posted today and talks about his upcoming season here in the US. Trent has a lot of international and European experience, but the coolest info I've come across so far is he has raced in the last two Giros d'Italia. Expect to see and hear more about Trent in the coming months.
Nashville.....Cycling.....Culture......Growing.
