I sure hope you showed up Saturday for the annual pre-banquet ride. If you didn't then you should be kicking yourself after missing out on what was a flat out perfect day for riding. The ride was made even more exciting by the presence of Tom Danielson of Discovery Channel.

The estimated count was about 120 riders, which is a record turnout for the annual ride. What I noticed more than anything was riders from all over the state participating, especially Chattanooga and Knoxville. The road got a little crowded at times, but wasn't it fun to see so many sharing their passion at the same time?

If you were lucky enough to ride alongside Tom Danielson I'm sure you noticed he's got a wonderfully open personality with the ability to splash humor spontaneously. As he signed autographs and posed for pictures he did so in no rush and respected the time given to each person. Tennesseans take to people who have a sincere and genuine approach towards others, and Tom certainly has those qualities in abundance.

TBRA couldn't have picked a better person as their guest for 2005.
