Plan AF is dead

This last week has been a lot of fun around the offices of NashvilleCyclist.com. Not only were we preparing for a big race weekend with collegiate kids and criterium fanatics, but also representatives of both administrations have been meeting to handle the transitional phase of NashvilleCyclist.com. Negotiations had been running smoothly, a lot of smiles and friendly handshakes. Heck, even the occasional mocha and glass of wine was enjoyed with the "new" group. Sure there were a few flare ups in negotiations, but that’s normal for these situations. We believed they could handle carrying the torch from this point forward and serve the cycling community better than ever.

Plan A was to continue building upon all the great momentum achieved through online content, race promotion, and local/regional race team to reach higher levels of success. We’ve done a pretty good job at offering content but could certainly do better with more depth and timeliness. Race promotion could always stand a boost in capital investment, and building the troops racing with NashvilleCyclist.com jerseys on their back requires more as well. Despite the lack of total capital a light was visible at the end of the tunnel.

The execs at NashvilleCyclist.com felt that within their four years of leading the charge they had peaked and needed new blood injected into their veins to get over upcoming challenges (no pun intended). Despite the chants of, "Four more years, four more years," the current leaders realized this quasi-dictatorship should be broken to pieces and re-molded like clay for the greater good.

What happened next will be debated for years to come and may even result in legal action, and if that’s the case then so be it. We are fortunate the new administration’s true colors were revealed late in the week. Prior to the agreement being signed and checks swapping hands an anonymous tip was shared with NashvilleCyclist.com. Not only was Plan A a total farce, but in its place a disastrous and intentionally culture splitting Plan AF to be carried out.

Plan AF wasn’t just a backpedaling from the current momentum, but rather systematic destruction and embarrassment aimed towards the founders of NashvilleCyclist.com. We will endure a lot of things, but the "third rail" never to be touched is the sick attempts to sully the reputation of NashvilleCyclsit.com. For legal reasons I should probably reserve giving too many specifics, but suffice it to say that Plan AF was a cultural nightmare for the cycling community.

This has been a gut wrenching experience. We are not sure where this will lead us over the coming months. We may even have to raise crit series entry fees to $20 to $30 per week just cover the legal fees, maybe no weekly payouts, but it’s either that or watch NashvilleCyclist.com go down the drain. Folks, we just won’t allow that to happen. Moreover, feedback from loyal followers since our "letting go" announcement have made the executives at NashvilleCyclist.com realize it was a bad idea from the start to turn over the keys to such zealots.

Plan AF is dead.

"Four more years!"

I'm happy if this is true. Or is it another April Fool's joke? Thanks for keeping things interesting. I'm sure it makes sense to you. I'm so confused. Good luck to us all.

Very weird joke.

And, what is with the Mormon-bashing comment? Hope Nashvillecyclist.com doesn't provide a venue for intolerance. I have always believed the cycling community strives to rise above such things.
