Wednesday low-down

Not much else to report after my post on the "no-show", but there are few odds & ends worth mentioning. I'll get to that shortly, but how about this awesome weather!? I know many of you are thinking "no way I'm getting outside", but I don't mind riding in it. If you've got the right clothing then hitting the streets in 20 degree weather really isn't a problem. It takes an investment to get into the right gear, but I assure you it's money well spent. Every bicycle shop in town has a line of good winter clothing that will not only protect you from the temperature but also from the wind. Save up and get you some! All it takes is the right clothing and right attitude, and if you're armed with that your indoor trainer will collect cobwebs.

Recently I was given this gift of coffee from Evan Hyde on his trip out West over the holidays. I am an everyday Jittery Joe's Coffee drinker, but I'm half-way through my bag of beans of 53x11 and I like it a lot! You can order online and even join their coffee club.

South Metro tops wreck list
This will give you an idea of where to avoid while riding your bike in town. It's mostly busy intersections anyway, but it's good to know. Check out THIS map to see Metro's top 30 crash locations in 2004-2005.

Bicyclist critically injured after collision with car, police said
This happened last night in Nashville. Initially they thought it was a hit-and-run, but later realized the cyclist hit a parked car. Without knowing specifics it's still good to state to always keep your head up when riding a bike.
