Not forgotten

To be a blogger one must actually blog, so here I go.....

Every time I wrap up one endeavor I go through a short transition phase where I essentially let out a deep breath. Finishing the crit series is one of those phases, which means once I post info about its completion I then turn my focus elsewhere. Hence, the light blogs about anything of substance.

This of course gives me time to drink wine! I finally found time on Friday to get some good wine glasses and storing stands. I smartly began chilling a couple of bottles before leaving for work on Friday morning, so when I got home with said glasses all I had to do was wash and pour! Ahhh, so it's one bottle of Rose' down and only 16 more bottles to go!

This weekend marks the first collegiate racing weekend for all of the Southeast universities. Vanderbilt is hosting races by latching onto the Cumberland Transit event at Montgomery Bell State Park. This was an excellent move on Vandy's part and something that more universities should do in the future. One large event that's USCF/Norba as well as collegiate makes for a more exciting atmosphere I think.

I was surprised and happy to see so many collegiate kids show up. University of Florida and FSU both had a handful show up, as well as Georgia Tech, Sewanee, UT-Chattanooga, Georgia and most notably Lees-McRae College. Wait, of course the boys from Cumberland University were on the scene. (yes, this site now becomes a collegiate race report!)

I have found a few interesting sites lately that you might like. I'll save much comment and leave it up to you to explore and draw conclusions. Believe it or not I really do have a lot to say despite being reserved most times when you see me.....

Reid has also started on online petition to scrutinize the lab involved in the Floyd Landis doping scandal.

I was recently invited to WKRN's September Blogger Meet-up, but unfortunately I will not be able to attend. I'll be in Atlanta for a collegiate mountain bike race held by Georgia Tech. Blogger conference/meetings are becoming more common, but I'm not quite sure what's accomplished.

Speaking of wine again, here is one involving the bike. Cycles Gladiator, it's all about the label.

Oh yeah, the Vuelta a EspaƱa started on Saturday. CSC and Carlos Sastre are geared and primed after their winning TTT, but Discovery's Tom Danielson may have something to say before the next three weeks are over.

Michael Olheiser of Memphis Motowerks just won the Masters World Time-Trial in Austria. Damn, that's impressive.

Music City Star - start date Monday, September 18, 2006! I will be riding the rail to work that day, how about you?
