Wednesday Night Worlds

It's finally here, Wednesday, August 23rd, or as some of us like to say Wednesday Night Worlds (WNW).

Race #9 of WNW is set to take off this evening at LP Field and afterwards the celebration of a long series will take place. There's a lot going on tonight besides bike racing. We have the beginners and juniors coaching clinic at 5:30 PM, and after the two races we'll have an awards presentation along with catered food from Whitt's BBQ. Even if you aren't racing you'll want to come out and watch.

Plus, there will be a few surprises for everyone to enjoy. The WNW Championship will be one for the record books and photo albums. When we began this endeavor almost two years ago we could only dream of offering as much racing as we have, but to actually pull it off has been incredibly rewarding and fun.

Below is a list of everyone you should thank and patronize for their continued support of bicycle racing in Middle Tennessee. Without their participation the WNW Championship would not have been the same, and to each I sincerely thank them for their contributions. As I've stated many times before, please take the time to shake the hands of race sponsors and promoters. This contact goes a long way in encouraging them to continue their much needed support.

Special thanks goes out to a few other contributors:

Metro Government, Metro Sports Authority, Cumberland Stadium, Inc., Tennessee Football, Inc., Nashville Downtown Partnership, and Tri-Star Cycling. Also, we greatly appreciate the help from our local USA Cycling Officials. Joey Holland, Theresa Moore and Mike Mead are all to be commended for their excellent officiating and scoring.

See you all this evening, and as Todd Nordmeyer likes to say "Come on, let's see some bike racing!"
