Today's updates 6/15

I've been busy this morning working on quite a few updates to NashvilleCyclist.com. I hope you'll check it out and catch up on a few diaries and other important details about some upcoming races.

Now onto some random thoughts...

1 - I have heard back from USA Cycling and I should be getting the insurance documents by the end of this week or first of next week. Our regional rep has always been good about turning docs around once she has time to work on it. From past experience I think their plates are quite full at the main office in Colorado Springs.

2 - Still working on officials though. There aren't many locals who are qualified to do the necessary officiating.

3 - Information has been released about the upcoming Tennessee State Time-Trial. You'll want to read this ASAP because registration is all online and the deadline isn't far off. This will help the organizers to provide a start time list on the Thursday before the time-trial weekend. That system is far more efficient than trying to handle everything the day of the event.

4 - There are new diaries from Dustin Greer and Katharine Carroll. Dustin describes the insane course at Sugar Mountain while Katharine's 2nd place finish at Reading is a must read.

5 - Picture of the Week contest.....I can't have a contest without pictures. Last week I received one submission but have yet to post, and this week I've gotten just a couple as well. I am hoping for quite a few more so there will be a true contest. For those of you who have sent a submission I will get them posted within the next couple of days. I slacked posting those due to lack of submissions and because of the time consumed by the criterium series.

6 - I am very fortunate to have several local businesses or clubs who want to be a part of the NashvilleCyclist.com Criterium Race Series. Murfreesboro Outdoor and Bicycle and Team MOAB have both stepped forward and provided backing of the series. OS Performance Nutrition has once again done their part as they are huge supporters of cycling in our community. Please remember to give thanks and your patronage to these organizations who are willing to support our passionate pursuit.

7 - Visit www.Race2Replace.com. There's too much there for me to review right now, but you should check it out. It all centers around who will replace Lance. Start by watching the video on Tom Danielson and the "Great White Hope." There's a funny exchange between Lance and Tom as Lance rags on Tom about being the Great White Hype, but Tom fires back about some picture of girl with Lance in People magazine. Lance's response is hilarious.
