USA Cycling CEO resigns....

.....or did he?

Upon the completion of the annual review of the CEO position USA Cycling announced the resignation of CEO Gerard Bisceglia.

Presumably there's good reason for Bisceglia to have resigned his position. Those of us holding licenses deserve a more thorough explanation than what has been reported so far.

Then again, according to a news report in Velonews they quote Bisceglia as saying he doesn't know why he was dismissed by board president Jim Ochowicz. Sounds like a firing and not a resignation to me, how about you?

Unless USA Cycling steps forward and states the reasons why Bisceglia is no longer the CEO then I'd say the black cloud is over their head, not Bisceglia's. Why say he resigned and then allow him to immediately come out and say he was fired? USA Cycling will have to respond and clear things up.

It's pretty simple really, the truth that is.

"Resignation" is frequently offered high level employees (and Bisceglia was an employee) after a decision has been made to terminate employement. It is merely a protocol courtesy that typically reflects the fact that the termination is based on something other than dishonest or criminal conduct.
