Criterium Series Dates Set
I have finalized the dates for the 2006 NashvilleCyclist.com Criterium Racing Series. The series will consist of 10 weeks of Wednesday night criterium racing with an overall points series competition. There will be a lot of upgrades and subtle changes to the series in order to make it a more enjoyable experience. I will provide those details once they're finalized.
My previous post on this topic threw out a bunch of different dates, but none had been confirmed with the powers that be at The Coliseum. We had originally planned to start the series late in the month of May, but there's quite a bit of stage racing going on during that time.
Between Joe Martin, Highland Rim and Edgar Soto it didn't make sense to try and cram some mid-week crits in there. The first week of June is not possible because of Fan Fair (or whatever it's called now), so the first race will take place on June 14. The only week of non-racing is during the July 4th holiday, but otherwise you'll be racing straight through late August.
So, you can etch these dates in stone:
June 14, 21 & 28
July 12, 19, 26
August 2, 9, 16 & 23
Stay tuned for more exciting details.
