2006 Charity rides

Ok, this on my hit list to accomplish soon: 2006 Charity Event Rides. Most of these don't begin until the first of April, so I am not too far behind. However, it's an exhaustive list much like the 2006 road calendar. Without one centralized hub for content (like NC.com!) it takes quite a bit of time to research and confirm dates. Fortunately the rides typically hold the same weekend each and every year. This consistency ensures event promoters won't overlap another event and helps to maximize their attendance. Don't break it if it's already fixed!

I hope we have a large following of recreational riders depending upon this information. Being tapped into the racing scene more than the club scene has a way of skewing my view, but I still hold on to my love for all the century rides I've done in the past. It's those countless rides that helped motivate me to lace up my racing shoes and get the most out of my riding experience.

I have some favorite centuries that I enjoyed back in the day. For speed it was always the Clarksville Labor Day Century which can be done in 4 hours. For pure climbing punishment it's got to be 3 State 3 Mountain in Chattanooga. One of my worst moments on a bike was going up the third mountain, the backside of Lookout Mountain. I'll never forget that day as it taught me a lot about myself mentally.

So again (as I shake my head thinking of Lookout), please be patient with me and know I am working on this information.
