Tennis & doping

Every sport is going through this problem, but the sport of tennis is one that has been flying under the radar. Until now.

Read this informative ESPN article about doping in tennis.

It's good to see the sport taking this issue seriously, but I disagree with Andre Agassi's comments. Tennis' testing process at least includes the athlete or a rep of the athlete to participate in the testing of a "B" sample. That's fair and shows progress for fairness towards the athlete.

This isn't a prediction, but in the future I expect every sport to eventually adhere to a world wide code of conduct and protocol. The scientific community must help develop this protocol and create a testing process that's 100% fool proof. Without consistency across the board there will always be a cloud of doubt, and if there's ever doubt then I'm siding with the athlete.
