Jury favors bike industry
Remember my previous post about the pending lawsuit against Wal-Mart and bike maker Dynacraft? A jury in Marin County California has awarded victory for those two companies, and decided against any monetary award to the plaintiffs. By finding no fault against the defendants it now provides a strong precedent for the industry regarding quick-releases.

If you didn't have a reason to boycott the evil empire (a.k.a. wal mart) before, perhaps now you have a reason that hits close to home. When the follow up article said a possible cause was "improper assembly", I remembered seeing a majority of bikes leaving wal mart (when I worked for Pepsi in sales and had to be there) fully assembled, or in line to be assembled. I don't know if this holds true locally (I worked in West TN, in smaller markets), but most all wal mart stores will assemble a bicycle for you for free.
