2006 TBRA season up

Check out TBRA's website and you'll see the 2006 race schedule has been posted. There are 29 road events and 10 mountain events.

Some of the highlights are a four day stage race during Memorial Day weekend while NashvilleCyclist.com is involved in a few races as well. Cumberland and Vanderbilt are teaming up to co-promote a collegiate race weekend in late March. We also hope to host USCF training races in conjunction with the college races in order to raise money for both programs.

I also hope to host a criterium at the stadium to compliment the Hot Sumner road race. That road race is a favorite of mine, but I haven't felt it's gotten deserved attendance due to a Sunday criterium not being offered. Well, I'm going to give it a shot and hope to get approval from the Sports Authority to use their venue.

July and August are two months that are primed for more racing. I know everyone talks about how hot it is during those months, but so what, let's race! I have considered doing a full weekend of TBRA races at the stadium, but right now I haven't pursued the idea. Maybe.....

Another bit of racing to factor into your plans is the NashvilleCyclist.com Criterium Training Series. If all goes as planned it will last from late May until mid August on approximately 10 different Wednesday evenings. I have the dates in mind, but I must get Sports Authority approval first. Of course this series has its own points system and not part of the TBRA points race. Stay tuned for more info!
