The Tour de Georgia announced today that Ford has been lined up as the presenting title sponsor for the 2006 Ford Tour de Georgia. New sponsor, new title, new logo and new website.
The addition of Ford should provide a big step up in all areas of support and marketing for the TDG. For Ford Motor Company to go to bat after Lance retires is a huge positive for our sport. This is beginning to prove that multi-national corporations like Amgen and Ford see value in supporting professional cycling in the United States.
Don't forget the TDG is coming to Chattanooga, Tennessee on Stage 3 for the individual time-trial. The ITT begins in Chickamauga, Georgia and finishes in Chattanooga to become the first city outside of Georgia to host the race. This stage takes place on Thursday, April 20th. Make plans today!
