Wine or no wine & updates
For about a week now you've been daily clicking hoping for some updates and new posts on the main site. Well today your wishes came true!
I have updated the overall points and results for the crit series, adjusted the race flyer with updated start times, added a diary from Zach Bolian, and threw in two new picture galleries from the Allanti races and Juniors clinic. This should keep you busy before making even more additions later tonight.
I have a lot to get done before my flight to California tomorrow. That is if there's actually going to be a flight with all that's going on right now. I have purposely not turned on the TV today and instead relied upon the radio and internet to provide me with updates on the foiled terrorist plot. The wine bottling will go on with or without the airline troubles, so it's not a trip I can postpone unless I want to miss out on that fun experience. The last thing I want is to come back with a story to tell that's about something other than the wine bottling.
In the meantime here are a few interesting things to read about.....
The Tennessean - Commuter rail tests show peril at signals
This isn't a rail problem, but a vehicle operator problem. We wouldn't know anything about that as cyclists though, would we?
Dallas Morning News - In Armstrong's world, fear, paranoia prevail
An in-depth review of his most recent legal case involving insurance provider SCA. Plus, more details about doping allegations.
TBRA.org - Allanti results and state road race jerseys awarded
Complete results from this past weekend have been posted along with the overall Tennessee Best Area Rider competition being updated. The state jersey awards can be viewed HERE.
Landis makes his Leno appearance
Did anyone else get to see this on Tuesday night? Floyd appeared at the end of Leno's show after comedian Bill Maher. If you saw it then you were probably screaming like me when the broadcasting system interrupted with a test! Just after Maher says, "It seems like we're having a giant debate about a sport no one gives a s**t about," the alert broadcasting system jumps in, screen goes blue, and conducts a periodic test. Just great! Why couldn't this test have waited until 1:00 AM or later? The test did finish and return to the interview just before it was completed.
Maher's comment sounded derogatory and didn't come across as remotely funny. Are the only Tours that matter the ones that involve Lance? Moreover, if Lance had been sitting next to Maher instead of Landis do you think Maher still runs his mouth like that? I think I know the answer, and so do you. Lance wouldn't have laughed it off and it's likely he'd have put Maher in his place.
Sports hypnosis for the bike
I'm willing to bet many of you got the same email I did about this. Dang, I might need to buy the one about time-trials!
