Allanti Cycling Classic
This weekend on August 5th and 6th bicycle shops Allanti and Bike Pedlar will be hosting the Allanti Cycling Classic here in Nashville. This weekend is an omnium with an overall prize list of $5,555!!
The road race on Saturday is serving as the Tennessee State Road Race Championship. It's taking place out in the Leiper's Fork area and will be a challenging race for all categories. State Championship medals will be awarded to the top 3 finishers from Tennessee in each category as well as a State Championship jersey to the winner at the annual TBRA banquet.
On Saturday afternoon there's a 5 mile time-trial in the Leiper's Fork area that takes riders up Pinewood Road and back down. Aero equipment isn't necessary since it's a slight uphill and short distance.
Here's the really fun part, on Sunday the Bike Pedlar Criterium is being held at LP Field in downtown Nashville! That's right, the fun and friendly confines of the weekly NashvilleCyclist.com criteriums will host Sunday's races. The bigger highlight is that we will have full access to the stadium lot which allows us to utilize the larger course. If you visit the Allanti race details you'll see a cool aerial view of the race course! I am really excited to help and participate in this event as I hope more racers in our region will show up to get a taste of Nashville's criterium atmosphere.
Pre-registration is taking place on BikeReg.com as well as at the Allanti Bicycle Company on Friday, August 4th from 6 PM to 9 PM. So far 100 people have pre-registered through BikeReg.com, but we should at least double that number! Please take the time to pre-register online and save yourself and the promoter time and energy. The deadline to pre-register online is Friday, August 4th at 12:15 AM CST, which essentially means late night Thursday.

UPDATE - I just pre-registered and there are NO EXTRA FEES when registering online!! In other words, I signed up for all three races and my total was only $60. Save yourself some time and money and pre-register online!
