Women changes.....

Word has it that there's a lot of changes and shuffling taking place in women's cycling. I don't have all the details, but the short of it is that several of our diarists will be moving to other teams. I hear indirectly that Katharine Carroll is moving to another team, but I am not sure about Lauren Gaffney just yet. Lauren is about to enter law school next year which could impact her racing in 2006.

When I am able to pinpoint more specific details straight from those involved I will post here. I'm not one for spreading messages that may not come to fruition.

Plus, several regional women's teams are shuffling around and taking over one another. Hopefully all these moves will make their sport stronger in the long run, but it makes it difficult for newer women racers to find a team for 2006. Established riders or solid up and comers have options, but others are left to scramble hoping to sign onto another squad.
