Greenway financial progress
The City Paper reports today on the progress for Greenways in Nashville through private donations. If you take the time to read the article you'll understand how this progress can continue.
Alan Sparkman with the Tennessee Concrete Association is identified as contributing $7,500 for a portion of the Whites Creek project, and it all stemmed from him seeing no place for him to bike with his kids. The bicycling community needs more people like Alan to step forward and DO something. Certainly there are some doers with deeper pockets out there making an impact, but we need more of them to get involved.
Donations from people (stakeholders!) with a selfish interest in bicycling related issues can quickly impact the quality of life for all pedalcyclists. Have you made a difference lately?
